“Safety Sounds Simple… Now it is”
Prober is leading the way for people to stay safe when outside. With a vaccine as well, another virus even more deadly than COVID-19 is possible. That is why it is crucial for there to be a product on the market that informs people on what businesses are taking the necessary measures in preventing the spread of the Coronavirus. Our slogan “Safety sounds simple… Now it is” refers to how safety should be simple, and how Prober now makes it simple. The name Prober is a form of “Probe” which means “to examine” and “Prober” is the actual object doing the examination.

The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus has caused almost 19 million infections worldwide and more than 700,000 deaths. The United States has emerged as the global leader in confirmed cases (almost 5 million) and deaths (close to 160,000 individuals). Currently, there are at least 1,000 deaths per day in the United States. Up to 45% of individuals have no symptoms, despite testing positive for exposure to the virus. Patients who are asymptomatic or have mild/moderate symptoms account for about 80% of all cases. Children are also vulnerable to SARS-CoV-2 infection and, though less likely to die from the infection, can easily disseminate the virus to susceptible adult populations. Because transmission of the virus is largely via respiratory droplets and aerosols, the basic tenets of prevention are simple: scrupulous adherence to social and physical distancing and the wearing of face masks. Citizens who go out after being cooped indoors for weeks on end in a lockdown naturally head to restaurants, bars, cafés, public parks, and stores. For prevention, individuals need to wear masks. However, the onus is also on management in these facilities to adhere to CDC guidelines for hand hygiene, maintenance of social distancing, use of face masks by personnel, covering sneezes and coughs, avoiding face touching, and adherence to basic cleaning and disinfection of the environment and frequently touched objects. Non-adherence or compliance to guidelines or standard practices will ultimately result in transmission of SARS-CoV-2. The Prober app enables individuals to document objectively whether the above public areas and facilities are adhering to basic public health principles for SARS-CoV-2 prevention. Such information will enable future customers, visitors or clientele to make rational choices regarding the safest places to visit.
